Active for 800 years, Hook Lighthouse represents the oldest operational lighthouse in the world. The lighthouse has been active since the structure was finished in the 13th century. William Marshal, the Earl of Pembroke, built this Norman tower in partnership with his Lordship of Leinster. Take a guided tour, which ends at the top of the lighthouse with stunning views of the natural surroundings. Watch for seals, dolphins, and whales in the nearby waters. If you've worked up an appetite, head to the cafe or enjoy a picnic on site. For a souvenir, visit the gift shop. • Started our morning with breakfast in the coffee shop. Had a mini breakfast that was very tasty and great value. 2 sausages 2 eggs 2 bacon white pudding beans and toast. In other places that's a full Irish. Then we had Tracy as our guide... we were brought into the lighthouse, and from start to finish it was fantastic. Informative, interesting full of facts and history from Tracy . A lovely pleasant woman. Highly recommended a trip here.
  • Wow! Fabulous scenery. Being so near to the crashing waves on the amazing rock formations there.breathtaking. Went for coffee in the hook cafe the staff were so lovely and genuinely friendly. Top marks to all including the guys outside helping people with parking. The loos spotless too!
