National Botanic Gardens
National Botanic Gardens is noted for housing several architecturally significant glasshouses and a national herbarium. This all-weather attraction contains outdoor displays, featuring walled and kitchen gardens, as well as indoor exhibit areas dedicated to both native and exotic plants. Inside the curvilinear glasshouses, designed by famed glasshouse builder Richard Turner, you can see a series of digitally controlled plant habitats replicating different natural environments from around the world. The gardens also display a historically important collection of orchids, grown as part of a renowned breeding program that dates back to 1844. Great place for a relaxing day. Suitable for everyone. No entry fee, only parking fee for cars but very reasonably priced. Nice cafe and toilets inside. Very well maintained. Loads of squirrels and birds that kids enjoy. Would need an entire day to go around the garden and the greenhouses. My kids 9 & 2 enjoy spending the day here and have never complained. Every time we have visited, there has been something new, doesn't get boring. Very limited Parking space and can get full quickly on holidays. So plan ahead.

Gorgeous day out. The gardens are stunning and so well kept. Lovely seating areas and perfect for a family picnic. The car park is small so I would recommend to go early, it's one car out and one car in system. We visited Arlington Cemetery that's beside the gardens which was beautiful too. The only downside was the cafe had run out of sandwiches come 2 O clock, I would recommend the cafe in Arlington instead. Overall a great day out!
