Tucked away from large crowds of tourists, Merrion Square provides a beautiful, historical retreat. Take a quiet walk down shady paths past traditional gardens. Grab a coffee, or enjoy a picnic with your family after taking a look at the park's famous Oscar Wilde statue, dedicated to the author who took up residence in the area for some time. W.B. Yeats and Daniel O'Connell also lived among the Georgian red-brick townhouses lining the sides of this square. You can visit their previous homes, along with the Natural History Museum, National Gallery, Leinster House, and several government buildings. Put Merrion Square on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Dublin trip planner.

We wanted to visit the Square/Park to see the Oscar Wilde Memorial Sculpture. There is a very interesting opportunity to 'hear' Oscar Wilde via your mobile phone!

Merrion Square sits in Dublin 2 and it’s a great place to relax as it’s much quieter than St.Stephen’s Green. Worth a visit.

Merrion Square Park is and has to be One of the Very well Looked after Parks in Dublin City. Its beautiful in Nature and as a Whole the Scenery is of Grand Design. Its Famous for Hosting our good friend Oscar Wilde, who's beautiful Statue sits Nicely and crafted with Great Precision. Its nice also that the park is across the road from the National Gallery of Ireland 🇮🇪 and also the Government Buildings. So if your Visiting Dublin, you must try your best to Visit Merrion Square Park. Its a visit that comes with Peace and Serenity. 10/10 for me. 🤗
