Doolin Cave
See one of the largest free-hanging stalactites in the world at Doolin Cave. J.M. Dickenson and Brian Varley, members of an English caving club, discovered the limestone cave in 1952. After negotiations with the Speleological Union of Ireland, the site opened to the public in 2006. Today you can step into the cave and marvel at the 7.3 m (24 ft) Great Stalactite. Walk the long passageways of the cave, officially named Pol an Ionain, and experience one of Ireland's natural wonders. My wife and I enjoy going into caves. The Doolin caves are easy to navigate inside, plenty of parking and a cafe. It was a great place to spend some time on another rainy day.

We had the best of Fun at Doolin Caves! Our Tour guide was amazing! Was about 50 minutes long and he’s been there 3 years! Be prepared for 120 steps down as it’s a little wet but it’s 100000% safe with Hard Hats provided for protection! You will have the best time of your life! It’s really worth it just for the history and also for being 70 metres underground! You truly won’t know yourself!!

Awesome cave to go with family. €53 for a family of four with guided tour. Tour guide was knowledgeable and interactive. Tour takes about 30-60 min depending if questions asked. If claustrophobic then advice to not do the tour, you will go through narrow and low ceiling tunnels with few good stories from guide. Small restaurant with giftshop fairly priced. Plenty of parking available. Even drive from Ennis to Doolin caves is accompanied by beautiful surroundings. Small nature walk around the caves around 1 km long. And get a coffee or a tea after tour/walk to finish off the experience. Whole family enjoyed especially kids. (FYI wear something comfy and simple)
