Fringed by pine forests and grassy sand dunes, Curracloe Beach features soft white sand lapped by a gentle surf. Locals flock to this Blue Flag-rated beach on sunny days, but thanks to its vastness, you won't have trouble finding a quiet spot just for yourself. A nature trail runs through the neighboring nature reserve, while the shacks serving snacks, selling sun cream, and renting bodyboards are available at the several access points. Thanks to its resemblance to Omaha Beach, the strand was featured in the opening scene of Spielberg's blockbuster movie "Saving Private Ryan." A visit to Curracloe Beach represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Curracloe travel planner to plot your vacation.

Gorgeous beach! Scenic view, wide, long, with fine soft sand , backed by sandy dunes. Short drive away from Wexford. One the very interesting facts about it, is that the opening scene of the Hollywood blockbuster “Saving private Ryan” was shot on this beach! Definitely must visit destination if you are in the area.

One of the most stunning blue flags seas in southern Ireland. The beach goes on for miles and miles and is absolutely stunning. Mostly Sand beach but also has amazing Sand dunes where the kids can play for hours. There’s also a great surf shack where you can get pizzas coffees and ice creams and you can also learn how to surf in those summer months.
