Listen to the drums and fiddles echo off the cliffs on Dingle Peninsula, a landscape dominated by the Slieve Mish mountain range and rugged coastlines and known for its rich Irish music tradition. Tall, jagged cliffs rise out of the waters, while sandy beaches offer some of the best surfing in Ireland, with certain areas also safe for swimming. Hiking trails range from challenging to easy and cut across the dynamic peninsula through mountains and over plateaus. The communities that live on the peninsula offer you fine dining, art galleries, and plenty of pubs with live traditional Irish music. Consider staying more than one day on the peninsula to experience all its natural and cultural highlights. One of the most beautiful areas in all Ireland. Dingle is South West Ireland in County Kerry. Every turn reveals more beauty. It is a must go place. Dingle itself was home for many years of Fungi the bottlenose dolphin but he’s sadly gone now and given his age, has probably crossed the rainbow sea. The Conor Pass would be regarded as one hairy journey for some more nervous drivers if you chose to travel it but there’s other fantastic routes. Dunquin pier is a must see place as is the town of Dingle itself with its eclectic mix of shops and good food. Parking in Dingle itself is pure hell so go early in the morning to get a parking spot.
