Royal Oak Distillery, Carlow

I had a tour at Royal Oak Distillery back in 2017, when it was still named differently. Out of all the distilleries I have visited during my trip to Ireland, the visit in Royal Oak was the most memorable one. It was a very close and personal tour and you could feel both their passion for their Whiskey and their urge to let you immerse yourself into their world. Probably at no other distillery you can see the real production so closely rather than sitting in a speial show room. During the tour with Woody - who is a perfect guide by the way - I didn't feel as a visitor but rather as a very welcome guest. The distillery is located in a wonderful scenery and was worth every kilometer of travelling. I will visit them again, once international travelling is safely possible again and recommend everyone else to do the same.

My wife and I drove down from Dublin for the day and it was soooo worth it! The tour was fantastic, both Woody and Paddy were hilarious and full of history. The copper stills are gorgeous. Anyone who enjoys a fantastic Irish Whiskey with a sidecar of amazing people must come here! The Walsh Distillery has certainly gained a lifelong customer!
