To receive the gift of great skill at flattery, kiss Blarney Stone. A block of Carboniferous limestone set into the Blarney castle, the stone was built into the battlements in 1446. Admire the castle and its gorgeous gardens, but don't leave without honoring the old legend that anyone who kisses the limestone will become excellent at persuasion. Though the task is difficult, as you must lean over the parapet's edge backwards to reach the stone, millions of visitors have taken part in the age-old tradition. A visit to Blarney Stone represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Cork visit planning site to plot your vacation.

Absolutely a must visit and I'd highly recommend the audio tour for a few extra euro. Fascinating and impressive castle with an interesting history and many myths/legends. I'd recommend visiting in the spring to avoid crowds. Definitely explore the sprawling grounds to make sure you don't miss out on the rest of the beauty and hidden gems. Many hours of content here for all interests.

Amazing experience. Had been before, and kissed the stone. Now I have mobility issues, so it was a completely different experience. There are many nice walking trails and points of interest that are all wheelchair accessible. Just be aware the castle stairs are very difficult. I couldn't go up to see the blarney stone, but I still had an amazing time. You can actually see the people kiss the stone from underneath, so I still felt a part of the experience. They also offer pictures of you kissing the stone. The different gardens were beautiful. I didn't go to the gift shop or cafe.
