Perched atop a mountain ridge, Amber Palace impresses visitors with its imposing Hindu architecture of towering ramparts constructed from distinctive red sandstone. Built in 1592, the complex occupies a spot on the World Heritage List, along with several other hill forts in the region. Enter through the Sun Gate, a grand entryway to the fortress' main courtyard. Explore the many different sections within the walls, which include a temple and several halls with intricate ceiling decorations and expansive gardens. Don't miss the Sheesh Mahal section, which boasts a number of ornate carvings and artwork made from glass. From the edge of the ramparts, you can enjoy a sweeping view over the surround valley, lake, and mountains. Amber Palace is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

We pulled over for a photo outside and was approached by a "guide." Our Hilton appointed driver assured us this guy would be fine if we wanted a guide. Wrong and we think maybe they knew each other...

Incredible, beautiful and well maintained, Huge in area and would take whole day to see the fort. The fort amazing example of a well maintained fort. Has a very detailed explanation of how the fort was built, its significance along with explanation on each. The view you get of the fort when you are about to reach the fort is quite mesmerizing. Definitely worth visiting if you are in Jaipur. Do check out Nahargarh too if you can, feel the royalty of king as well as feel the beauty of this place. I would like to recommend you please go early morning after 9. Am so you can see full fort .This is very big fort you need whole day to see all.
