Aristotelous Square
The city's main plaza, Aristotelous Square is well known for the important political speeches and rallies that took place on-site over the years. The plaza was constructed in 1918 following the destruction of much of Thessaloniki during the Great Fire of 1917. However, when you visit, many of the buildings you'll see are from the 1950s. Head to the bustling square to get a coffee from one of the many cafes and people-watch, or watch one of the cultural events that take place here often. Check online to see if any special festivals or markets line up with your schedule. Put Aristotelous Square at the forefront of your travel plans using our Thessaloniki online trip itinerary builder.

It's the best place to go when you are at Thessaloniki. At fisrt the area has a big variety of famous stores and restaurants. Also it's beside the sea where you can go biking and even have a nice walk to the parks

Make sure you buy seeds for the pigeons from the local vendors. It is a mind blowing visit when multitudes of pigeons who eagerly await you to feed them flock all around you. Also, bring your sweet tooth as Thessaloniki is the sweet Capital of Greece. You won't find chocolate covered tsourekia this good anywhere else.
