A place of romantic sunsets and traditional taverns, Amoudi Bay sits just below the small port town of Oia. After a swim in the Aegean, scramble up the bay's red cliffs to take in sweeping views of the sea and the coastline, dotted by tiny beaches attracting water lovers from around the world. The bay gets extremely crowded by mid-afternoon, so try to arrive as early in the day as possible. It's best to spend the first part of the afternoon exploring the bay's many seafood restaurants, leaving plenty of time to find a good spot for watching the sunset near the water or up on the cliffs. Amoudi bay is within walking distance of the main Oia area down 200 large steps. It's worth the walk down to the restaurants - there are a couple of great ones down there, and a self-service snack...

Definitely non an ordinary restaurant and not touristic. In fact the food is really good, well cooked and very tasty. You can also find a lot of gluten free options, they are really careful with allergies. A little expensive, but it worth it, specially because of the quality of food and also because of the location, in front of the sea side and also if it is windy you can sit and look at the seaside thanks to their windbreak curtains and gas heater. I definitely recommend it to those who want to pass some mindfulness hours and enjoy seaside and good food.

Absolutely beautiful place no matter what time of day you go there. If you want to go for the sunset view, make sure to make a reservation beforehand or it'll all be full. We walked down for lunch and it was amazing - the seafood is so fresh. The walk up back to Oia can be very tiring so watch out.
