Create an itinerary including Acropolis of Lindos
Perched atop a rocky hill, Acropolis of Lindos represents natural citadel fortified over the centuries by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and the Ottomans. Offering sweeping views of a small town's picturesque harbor, this important archaeological site contains remains of several ancient structures, the most notable of which is a Doric temple dedicated to the goddess Athena and dated to about 300 BCE. A monumental medieval wall surrounds this age-old temple and fortifications built by the Crusaders in the 14th century. The climb up to these ancient ruins can be quite arduous; you can make it a bit easier by arranging for a donkey ride up to the top. • It’s a fair trek up to the top of the Acropolis… BUT … the views from the top and the Acropolis make it well worth the walk & €12 entry fee

  • Definately worth the walk up. I would suggest early in the morning ir later in the day. I am no athlete and I managed the chimb. Spectacular views. You pay to get in at the top.

  • Amazing historical place… I strongly recommend to go early in the morning as there are very little people. We had a fantastic walk and view and enjoyed the beauty of the Acropolis! While going down we noticed the mass tourism starting with a line for tickets of approximately 50/60 meters.
  • Incredible views, a must see when you are in Rhodes and you love a good day trip. Lots of steps on the walk up and on a hot day, it will take the wind out if you if your not a big walker. Hundreds of little stores and restaurants surrounding the main square and on the walk up. Lindos beach is a great place to visit after your descent to grab a refreshing cocktail. We hired a boat for the hour at 70euro which was a great way to end the day and speed across the coast to view the mighty acropolis from below. An absolute must!
