Find Preveli Beach, hidden away just below a historic monastery where the lagoon and beach are known locally as "Palm Beach." A grove of palm trees crowds the opening of the Kourtaliótiko gorge that opens onto the sand. Boats from Plakias will bring you from your resort to the site, where you can swim in the Libyan Sea and hike the grove in this relatively isolated location. Although the beach is secluded, there is a small cafe nearby. Consider including a visit to the monastery and a hike through the gorge while you're here.
