  • We were sick of the crowds at certain places. Then we went here. Absolutely no-one. The smell of pine trees and a warm wind from Poseidon himself. The museum is a hidden gem, the site is like most...

  • I didn't know it was closed only on Tuesdays. The Google suggested opening times are correct. I didn't notice, and I didn't find a phone number to call. I came all the way from Athens €9.9 by bus and walked 2k. I'll go to Argos on the same day - no chance to come back and visit:( When open, €3 entrance for the open air site. Indoor museum remains closed.
  • Think Roman, rather than Greek. The highlight is the Roman Bathhouse with the remarkable monochrome mosaic floor. I’m not especially into mosaics, but this one is special and it grabbed my attention immediately. The Temple of Poseidon is large and imposing, but less well preserved- not to compare with nearby Korinthos or Nemea. The one-room museum has a few good pieces and is worth half an hour or so, more if you have a special interest. The friendly dog looks after you well.
