Lychnostatis Open Air Museum
Step into Cretan tradition at Lychnostatis Open Air Museum, where a reconstructed merchant and farmhouses stand alongside traditional wine and olive presses. These presses continue producing olive oil and wine today, and you'll find workshops that teach traditional techniques in handicrafts and produce goods you can buy here. Take in a performance of folk music and dancing at the 250-seat auditorium or taste some of the local wine. Before you leave, drink in the scents that drift off the herbs and cactuses in the traditional gardens. Located in the city center, the site is easily accessible from other major attractions. What a lovely little place! Following reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to take a walk down to here from Nana Golden Beach (about 10 mins). The lady on the gate was extremely friendly and helpful...

A great little museum that shows you the traditional rural way of life to be found on Crete before the tourism boom. It showcased various different practices such as olive oil making, beekeeping, textile making and much more. I'd highly recommend going for the audio guide, we decided not to due to finding it pointless in museums before but regretted not using it. Well worth a visit if you're interested in the history behind Crete.

The most peaceful place on the beach in Chersonissos. The staff was so nice and we had a great time. Food is nice and really good for the price. Please try the cocktails. They are fresh and amazing.
