We drove by St. Blasien by chance and then saw this huge cathedral in the middle of the Black Forest. We decided to stop and visit. And wow, what a beautiful cathedral it is! Not the typical gold-covered altars as one would expect but beautiful white marble (?) stones. Definitely one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've ever seen!

We came one Saturday afternoon but the church, the main attraction of this place, was closed due to concert preparations. It was disappointing for a number of other tourists too. A small spa resort which has little to offer beyond its church with the biggest cupole north of the Alps.
