Originally an early medieval castle, Dachau Palace was partially destroyed over time. What remains was redone in Baroque style between 1715 and 1717. Visit the interior of the castle to see the magnificent wooden Renaissance ceiling of the main hall, then take in the views of the gardens and Munich beyond. Save some time to wander the extensive gardens and perhaps enjoy a slice of cake with some coffee in the veranda cafe.     They have a lot of nice cakes and good coffee. We got our coffee 10 minutes after our cake. The Ambiente is really nice.

    Dachau is much more than a concentration camp. The old town (Altstadt) up on the hill, near the castle, is a model of a medieval German town. It's an interesting area with colorful houses and cobbled....  more

    Small castle located on top of a hill. You can have a good view of the surrounding city. Other than that not much to see.
