The striking architecture of Centre Pompidou-Metz accentuates the beauty of the modern and contemporary artwork housed inside. The museum is a branch of the popular Centre Pompidou in Paris, and is one of the most visited cultural venues in France. The museum building’s hexagonal shape is one of its distinct features. Its roof is composed of laminated timber that intersects to form hexagonal wooden units, resembling the cane-work pattern of a Chinese hat. Three large galleries host exhibits. Most of these are from the collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, which is the largest European collection of modern and contemporary art. The museum also includes a terrace restaurant with interiors inspired by a kaleidoscope, and a well-designed garden. The building is really interesting, but exhibitions were disappointing. Much below our expectations. My wife is an art teacher and even she told it was disappointment. We really expected much more...

One of the best modern museums I have crossed in my life. The collections that we saw were sooo well displayed and so interesting. Spent hours there and enjoyed every minute. Keep it up for whoever is managing the place and choosing the art.

A very unique experience of art. The architecture of the whole building is art itself. Free entry for students and a big space for art to discover. Close to a shopping mall with also a nice coffee inside the museum. Museum Shop was very big with a lot of different books. Really enjoyed the visit.
