This is an amazing place to visit. Anyone remotely interested in military history would really enjoy a visit here. Apart from a very well preserved Maginot line fort, there’s also a story attached. Regrettably, there was not a good outcome for the soldiers who served here. You will have to visit to find out the full story. The cost is a very reasonable €8 per adult and the tour is guided. They do tours in English but only for groups. We went with a French – speaking guide and were given some information sheets in English to take on the tour. These were sufficient to get a good appreciation of the fort. The engineering and ingenuity in designing and building these forts is incredible considering the most are around 100 years old. If you visit and like this fort, be sure to visit the bigger ones a little further south. In particular, Hackenberg and Schoenenbourg.
