Create an itinerary including Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul
Climb to the top of the bell towers of Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, which always ring at 11 a.m. rather than noon as a nod to a tale of subterfuge during the Thirty Years' War. Stone balconies that are nearly 84 m (276 ft) high offer views over the city. The cathedral was erected on the site of a much earlier Romanesque chapel in 1777. Its Neo-Gothic facade is the work of 20th-century architect August Kirstein. Look for a quotation from Matthew's gospel written above the main entrance, which invites all hardworking people to find peace inside the church. The Baroque interior is complemented with high ceilings and stained-glass windows. The cathedral also features a medieval crypt. • Very lovely church. Being able to go into the heights of the bell rafters was fun. I love the white marble, gold trim, and darker wood and marble combinations of the interior.
  • After eastern France and the Wallone area of Belgium, I can't get enough of the churches in Czechia. They have all been so amazing and this one does not disappoint. It is beautiful, peaceful and a great walk up a hill. You can climb the tower too but I didn't have enough time. It is worth the walk up the hill to enjoy the peace
