Create an itinerary including Cathedral of Zagreb
Cathedral of Zagreb represents the most impressive Gothic church southeast of the Alps. The cathedral is the tallest building in Croatia and dominates Kaptol Square. The twin spires are a fixture of Zagreb's skyline. Inside the church, admire the Baroque marble altars, statues, the pulpit, large-scale stained-glass work, and other objects related to religious art. Don't miss the tomb of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, decorated with a relief by the famous Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic. See a cycle of 13th century frescoes in the sacristy. Bring your camera for photos in the soft light of the interior. Plan your Cathedral of Zagreb visit and explore what else you can see and do in Zagreb using our Zagreb route planner.

  • It is absolutely amazing to see. This is a true beauty of the town and it is very impressive both inside and outside. Make sure you save enough time for visiting.

  • Gorgeous church! Unfortunately still under restoration and no entry allowed. The outside is really beautiful Don’t miss the clock on the wall to the left of the church
  • The cathedral is not open for the public (due to renovation work; an earthquake made some massive damages in 2020) but you can still see it greatness.
