Tidal Wave Surf Academy, Tamarindo

I booked my surfing lesson with Alvaro before I had gone on my trip. Surfing has been something on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. I was so nervous to try, but Alvaro was fantastic at making sure I was okay and feeling ready. We started with basic lessons on the beach and stretches before heading into the water. Alvaro was wonderful at explaining how the tides work and when to read the water for a solid wave. He did not pressure me into doing anything and was so supportive throughout; so much, that I was able to stand up on my first attempt. After our session, I had no words to describe the feeling and could not shut up about it for the rest of the trip. Kudos to Alvaro for his amazing teaching and really keeping me grounded and confident. You will miss out on a great experience if you don't book with him!!!

Alvaro was great! It was easy to set up a lesson with him over WhatsApp. My partner and I took 2 surfing lessons and he provided us with boards and gave great instructions while out in the water.
