The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses boasts a collection of over 8,000 carved soldiers and horses. The figures in this World Heritage Site were buried in the 3rd century BCE with the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, to protect him in the afterlife. The thousands of life-size soldiers stand at attention as an imperial army would in real life. Look for remains of the paint that originally lacquered each statue. This Terracotta Warrior exhibit is amazing! I had seen a show about this on tv several years ago but the show did not do it justice. From the second you walk into the first building you will be completely overwhelmed with emotions. It is so much bigger than I expected and so much to see. You can also get your photo taken with Terracotta Warrior replicas as well as several other items from the several small stores throughout the exhibit. I personally collected all of the coins they offer. If you visit China... this is a must see!
