Descend to the bottom of the ravine at Xihai Great Canyon. The scenic area offers a circular sightseeing route where you can encounter many distinctively shaped rocks, such as "Lady Playing Piano," "Upside-down Boot," and "Dog Watching Sky." The area covers 25 sq km (9.6 sq mi), and though the whole route is better suited to more physically fit visitors, anyone can visit some parts of the canyon. A sightseeing cable car goes from the top to the bottom of the ravine, making several stops along the way to allow guests to enjoy the scenery. If you didn't get enough steps walking up Mt Huangshan, take this side trip. Approximately 1 hour each way with steeper stairs than you encountered before. Worth it? You bet!
