Insectarium de Montreal displays both live and dead insect collections from all around the world, from giant stick insects and furry spiders to monarch butterflies and jewel-like beetles. The largest insect museum in North America (which from a bird's perspective looks like a stylized insect), is home to nearly 250,000 specimens of living and naturalized insects. Observe busy ants picking leaves and maintaining the nest on an anthill. Learn more about arthropods, and explore shapes and colors of specimens displayed in cases and vivariums. Wander through a prairie to a pond filled with freshwater wildlife in the discovery zone. Kids will like the fun zone with games on the theme of insect habitats. What an amazing museum. They redid the insectarium and it is worth a visit. The staff are exceptional and the museum and beautifully laid out. The butterfly room is beautiful and a joy to walk through. At the end they have a room for kids to draw comics which was filled with happy kids. The centre room with specimens was clean and well laid out. It’s worth taking the time to read the information about the specimen. I recommend downloading the app.
I have no reason to refuse this place. Magnificent is the word I can describe about the insects here. Kids gonna love this plafe for sure! They are doing some renovations now, I hope it will be finish for summer. I would like to go there with my kid again. We bought a pass for family it's cost 150$ for 2 adults and 3 kids under 17. Then you can go anywhere you want in the list of Space of Montreal on the website. It become cheaper and save lots of money for family activities. Highly recommend!!!
