Old Bridge (Stari Most)
Old Bridge (Stari Most) presents a reconstructed version of the 16th-century Ottoman bridge over the Neretva River, which was destroyed in the Yugoslav wars. Considered to be one of the most typical structures of the Islamic architecture in the region, the bridge is reminiscent of the centuries reign of sultans, Suleiman the Magnificent, and the strength and suffering of the Balkan people. After surviving for more than 425 years, the bridge finally fell under an attack of more than 60 shells. Today you can see it standing again, revived, amidst castles and houses. Beautiful piece of history with a lot of shopping and restaurants nearby. Can easily spend an entire day browsing the shops, taking pictures, and eating and drinking.

Stunning views towards and from the bridge. Be very careful, because stone is extremely slippery. I recommend to visit bridge museum as well to see some info about history of the city and the process of reconstruction of the bridge, entrance fee €5

Nicer than I ever imagined it would be. Go in the day and at night as it has two stories to tell. I describe it as a fairy tale bridge. Not big but so spectacular and romantic. I never saw a romantic bridge?!
