Sigmund-Thun-Klamm, Kaprun

Explore the gorge that slices the Kaprun Valley in half at Sigmund-Thun-Klamm, created by a glacier over 14,000 years ago. The gorge measures 32 m (105 ft) at its deepest, and runs 320 m (1,050 ft) long, marked with rocky riverbanks, whirlpools, and holes. Explore the length of the gorge by a wooden walkway that hugs its side. As you ascend, take in the beauty of the waterfalls that rush below. At the top you'll find a picturesque lake with a reflection of the mountains in the distance. The walkway has stairs in many sections, requiring some basic physical skills, yet it is suitable for children; wear comfortable shoes with good traction.
