The Wollongong Head Lighthouse, also known as Flagstaff Hill Lighthouse or Flagstaff Point Light, is an active lighthouse located adjacent to the heritage-listed Wollongong Harbour precinct in Wollongong, a coastal city south of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It overlooks the Tasman Sea from the top of Flagstaff Point, directly east of the city centre. Wollongong is the only place in the east of Australia to have two lighthouses located in close proximity of each other, the other being Wollongong Breakwater Lighthouse. To visit Wollongong Head Lighthouse and get the most from your holiday in Wollongong, create itinerary details personal to you using our Wollongong travel planner.
Wollongong Harbour is home to private vessels and the local fishing fleet in its inner Belmore Basin. South of the city is Port Kembla, a major steelmaking, minerals, grain and vehicle handling harbour. A further hazard to shipping is an island group known collectively as The Five Islands lying a short distance off the coast.

There is a very good view up and down the coast from the lookout near the lighthouse, there is plenty of parking available and plenty of seats.

Most happening places of Wollongong. Day and night both. Safe, friendly people, so many restaurants to choose from. So far food has been amazing together with the restaurant staff. Our favourite hotel is Adina Apartments. Pleasant staff, clean rooms, filled with amenities, safe parking and above all spot on location. My kid and I both are regulars.

A great place to see the beautiful coast of Wollongong. Lovely for walks, skating or to just relax and enjoy the sea / mountain views on a sunny day. Has some great free diving off the point when the seas permit. Follow me on Google maps for reviews of skateparks and pies around Australia.
