Logan's Beach, Warrnambool

Best known as a whale viewing spot, Logan's Beach is located on the eastern side of the city. This beach is recognized as a nursery site for the southern right whale. Most years one to three female whales come here between May and August, giving birth within days of their arrival. The young whale calves are reared here, usually departing with their female parents by mid to late September. Australian fur seals, little penguins, and dolphins also regularly visit this coastline.
