Situated inside a converted electric station, Powerhouse Museum houses a huge collection of art and artifacts celebrating applied science and design. The museum is known for kid-friendly interactive displays and popular shows featuring props from films such as "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter." You can visit a number of permanent exhibitions, including one displaying a life-size model of a Space Shuttle cockpit. Other exhibits highlight the steam engine revolution and modern cyber technology. Spectacular museum with plenty of interactivity for kids. The eucalyptus exhibit was a sensory explosion of wonder. Truly great. The locomotive was an astonishing thing to see. Special mention to the space and automobile exhibits that were also amazing!

I don’t know if this is permanent, but entry is currently free. The “experiments” exhibit is great for young minds - and the interactive components were a huge hit. We’ve been a few times to the Powerhouse, intermittently over the years, and the kids always have a fantastic time.
