The Centre consists of:
* the retail area offering fine wool products
* a wool exhibition area outlining the history of the wool industry in Tasmania, and
* the history museum telling the fascinating story of Ross' past.
The wool exhibition and history museum both feature audio-visual displays and many interesting artefacts. The Feel-and-touch wool display allows visitors to experience wool produced by a range of sheep breeds, and of course features the superfine merino wool the region is renowned for.
About Us - The Tasmanian Wool Centre - Ross is a not-for-profit organisation and any funds generated by the retail area are directed to restoration projects around Ross and to the support of community groups in the area.
The Tasmanian Wool Centre also houses the Ross Visitor Information Centre for help with all your holiday enquiries. Ross is a beautifully preserved Georgian village with many fine stone buildings and lots of history to explore. Visitors are charmed by the elm-lined streets, the heritage and the relaxed rural setting. When travelling to Tasmania, make sure you include Ross in your itinerary. visitross.com.au will help you plan your visit.

Huge range of quality woollen garments as well as a range of children's hand knitted clothing. A great range of wool available bother raw and in skeins together with patterns, needles and crotchet hooks. Brilliant for traveller's itchy fingers! Even some great wool dyes available! Love this outlet. Brilliant.

Wow what a range of woollen garments of all sorts. My favourite was the merino and denim jeans - machine washable and durable as well as being warmer than the straight cotton. Worth a visit just to see the range of clothing and has plenty of historical displays and narratives too. Friendly staff as well.
