Carlo Sand Blow
Head to the top of Carlo Sand Blow for an eye-filling look at the multihued Rainbow Beach below. Starting from the Rainbow Beach water tower at the top of Cooloola Drive, take the walking path 600 m (0.4 mi) to the top of the 15 hectare (37 acre) sand-blow. Once you get to the top, take in the 360-degree views that include Fraser Island and magnificent sea cliffs. Come for the spectacular sunset and stay to stargaze. Watch for migrating whales if you're here between August and October. Nothing to add to all these great reviews, but the single most helpful tip: do NOT enter "Carlo Sand Blow" into Google Maps. It will take you to nowhere. Enter "Cooloola Great Walk" instead. That will take you to the parking area and then it's just a short walk to the sand blow, which is part of the Cooloola Great Walk. It's a very special place!
