We've been there 3 times and it's always been closed. Closed Mondays, when there's high fire danger, severe weather warnings (even though rest of King's Park is open) and all of Feb. Not well managed.

Great place to take the kids with natural water play and lots of shade. Make sure it's open before you go though. Often when it's hot they close it, due to fire danger
