Enjoy the shaded pathways of Hyde Park, where you can jog, rollerblade, bike, picnic, or simply enjoy a few quiet moments with a good book and a cup of coffee. European settlers turned this swampy zone into a public park in 1897, creating an urban green space that still plays an important social and ecological role. The park hosts frequent music festivals and live performances, and is a popular venue for weddings and family photographs. Also notable for its mature trees, the area is lined with figs, pines, jacarandas, cedars, and several indigenous eucalyptuses, some of which are over a century old. Two lakes located within the park attract a wide variety of birdlife, which includes ducks, coots, pelicans, and swans. To visit Hyde Park on your trip to Perth, use our Perth trip planner.

Haven't been to Hyde Park for more than 12 years and I thought it was a good time to visit again for the autumn colors. Today, the trees around the lakes were still quite green, however there were a lot of people walking around the park, gathering on the grass areas, and different people doing different things even on a weekday! The park seemed to be more beautiful and well maintained as ever! Public toilets are available close to William Street. We will come back in about 3 weeks time to witness the autumn colors!

It's an extremely nice park, large and the amount of birds is honestly impressive. The playgrounds offer a large variety of things for kids to do. There's a lot of shade and large trees. The bus stop near the park / to the park is very convenient. I adore this park.
