Both a gallery and a museum, this building was commissioned by the wife of Governor Sir John Franklin in 1842, Lady Jane Franklin, to inspire art appreciation among the local residents. Built along the lines of a Greek temple, it has hosted sculptures, paintings, and books over the years. Today the gallery is run by The Art Society of Tasmania and exhibits local amateur art alongside more renowned pieces and themes.     Lady Franklin Gallery is a beautiful historic art gallery in Lenah Valley with local art. It is open at 11am- 4pm on weekends and run by volunteers. Definitely worth a visit. And there are some...
