Climb 2.5 km (1.4 miles) up The Pinnacle and you will be rewarded at the top with a feeling of accomplishment and a spectacular view overlooking the Grampians district. Choose between two routes based on your preferred level of difficulty. The Wonderland route is more strenuous with a continuous ascent via pathways and inclined steps; it involves some rock hopping and walking through a narrow gap in Silent Street. The Sundial route is much flatter with a less steep incline. Follow the yellow arrows to the top. • Exposed pinnacle is reasonably challenging. Trail not very clearly marked but a great climb. Allow about 4 hours. There are a couple of creek / waterway crossings on the trail.

  • You can see for miles on a good day. But take care. You will need to clamber over rocks. So do not slip!!

  • If you want to do relaxing walk up to the pinnacle look out , it’s better start from sundial car park. It’s only 2.1 km to the top. I started at 8:30am, I was only one at car park, so if you like quite walk, better start early in the morning. There are yellow triangle sign for pathways , just follow them up to the top. The view is spectacular. Highly recommend place for hike.
  • Excellent hike. I am in awe of the great work that has been done to make these places accessible to the general public. Stunning rock formations and views. My only criticism is that the signage could be better. After spending a bit of time exploring the summit, I lost my bearings and took a wrong turn going back down that necessitated a significant amount of backtracking.
