At Halls Gap Zoo, feed meerkats and let them climb over you; hold snakes, alligators, and chameleons; and pet dingoes. The zoo contains over 160 species of native and exotic wildlife--including a giraffe, a red panda, lemurs, colorful macaws, wallabies, and kangaroos--for you to view. You can even spend a morning or an entire day assisting a zookeeper. The wheelchair-accessible path winds for 2 km (1.25 mi), and you can bring your lunch to enjoy in one of the picnic areas or cook it on one of the barbecues. Kiosks around the site sell food as well. We booked 3 animal encounters and loved them all. Up close with meercats, red panda and giraffes. The photos staff took of our experiences and emailed to us were terrific. A great little zoo.

A little paradise in the Grampians. Thoroughly enjoyed the open space and interactions with all the critters in this regional zoo, something that cannot be experienced in the city zoos. Zoo keepers...

We expected to be there for an hour, but left after 3hrs! We went with our 16 year old teenager and friends, and we all had a ball. We loved the very varied and diverse animals and birds to see. Feeding the deer was a fun highlight. I loved the giraffes. The rhino was wonderful. We loved how the food was placed right next to the fences for easy animal viewing. Highly recommend!

I visited the Zoo for a Red Panda Experience. The staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable. I love how this Zoo doesn’t force the animals. It was a lovely day! I also like being able to walk around the zoo and have deer and other animals wonder freely around. The location is wonderful as well! A must visit when visiting the Grampians!
