Create an itinerary including Australian Reptile Park
Australian Reptile Park brings you to reptile and wildlife paradise. Get up close to the animals: See the giant 165 kg (363 lbs) Galapagos tortoise, pet a possum, and hand-feed the kangaroos. You can also watch the alligator feeding at the lagoon and wildlife shows starring Burmese pythons and dingoes. Head to the snake and venom collection to learn about production of antivenin used for saving lives. Don’t miss a chance to see one of largest diplodocus replicas and Elvis the crocodile, dubbed the zoo’s unhappiest resident, since an attack on park staff and their lawnmower left him with two lost teeth. • Our visit to the Australian Reptile Park far exceeded my expectations. It has a wonderful diversity of native animals with a sprinkling in of non-indigenous species to get a good comparison of what makes Australia special. The park is relatively condensed but it packs a punch, aided by the constant events that are scheduled nearly back-to-back and in close proximity to the main field area. The star of the show was Zach who did the alligator feeding, the reptile show and the crocodile show. He imparted a large amount of information not only about the animals but what to do when encountering a funnel web spider, how to do first aid on snake bites and really made everyone aware of the important conservation and lifesaving venom collection that happens at the park. The photo opportunities were not at all rushed. We were able to spend as much time with each animal as we wanted and somehow the process remained super efficient. The printed photos turned out great and were ready in an hour which gave us the perfect amount of time to check out the lovely playground that has a pretty good number of attractions. I would absolutely recommend visiting whether you have two hours or six. There is plenty to fill in the time. Where else can you pat a Galapagos tortoise, dance with dinosaurs and hold a wombat all within the span of a few hours? Take that highway exit when you see the sign. You likely won't regret it.
  • We visited the Australian Reptile Park last week for the first time and loved it!! I've forever wondered what goodness was behind the "big dinosaur" who I'd spot from the highway and before approaching it, would try and guess what colour he'd be. Finally, I have found out. So many gorgeous animals, well laid out & neat enclosures and amazing programs - like their turtle breeding program! The staff were all lovely and the male (long brown hair not sure name sorry) who ran the show in the pit was so knowledgeable about the animals and very engaging. The spider enclosures were so cool with all the little buttons/handles etc to engage with made the experience so much more interesting than just viewing spiders in standard enclosures. Thanks Australian Reptile Park for such an awesome day at your venue!!
