A small town's big tourist attraction, The Great Aussie Beer Shed is the first and only beer can museum in Australia. In addition to its collection of 16,000 beer cans, the museum features displays of other brewery-related items, such as beer tap tops, tap handles, trays, old wooden beer barrels, bottles, vintage signs, and old and new brewery equipment and machinery. The museum covers over 400 sq m (5,000 sq ft) and conducts daily guided tours of its many displays. Much more than just a beer can gallery, the site offers an unusual look at Australian history, with its permanent exhibit of old-fashioned farm equipment and kitchen and laundry items of early European settlers. A wonderful experience. The owner, Neil, has an extensive collection of not just beer cans but historic items and equipment such as war relics and vintage fuel pumps. There is also plenty of vintage farm machinery, cars and horse carts. All of this is made even better by Neil who provides you with an interesting and entertaining tour and explanation of many items in his collection. I recommend grabbing a drink from the front counter to enjoy while browsing through this amazing collection. Will definitely come again.
If you are ever in the vicinity of Echuca ensure you visit this absolutely stunning display of Aussie history. The best way to describe this place is with a great big WOW. The enormous feat of anyone to collect the volume and quality of historic items is beyond belief. You could spend nearly a full day in this place and still not see it all. The passion and commitment by this owner and his Father is something everyone should witness. Make sure you visit this place and you will be blown away like I was. Thank you Neil Thomas for sharing what you have created with us all as general public as it is an unbelievable place to visit.
