Dove Lake Circuit
Well-maintained paths leading up to the Cradle Mountain encircle Dove Lake Circuit, home to a variety of native wildlife, including wombats, anteaters, and pademelons (small marsupials). The habitat includes unique native plants, such as the Tasmanian deciduous beach, tussock grasses, snow gums, and pencil pines. Formed by glaciation, this lake is now part of the protected Heritage Wilderness Area, which you can visit at the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. You can stroll around the lake on your own or join a long guided walk, such as the six-day Overland Track to the southern edge of this wilderness. Remember to bring waterproof clothes, as it rains almost 300 days a year in this area. Has to be one of the best accessible walks in Tasmania. About 6k circuit and not too difficult apart from some steps here and there. Weather permitting, you'll get stunning views of Cradle Mountain.

Absolutely gorgeous Dove Lake with panoramic views of Cradle Mountain and the national park beyond. It's definetly a must see destination for anyone in the area! It suits all types of fitness and age group. Price to enter is reasonable however the facilities are first class. The trails are easy to determine and are well looked after. I saw wombats quite easily and the lakes are simply stunning. This is definitely gods country. I feel so blessed to have this in my back yard of Australia 🇦🇺. This is a must see and do.

There is a 3 hour circuit walk around the lake. And last shuttle bus leaves around 6 clock. If you miss there is 6 hour walk back to the car park. The Tasmanian parks pass grants you free ticket access to the shuttle bus. And carry some water as there is none around the circuit walk.
