Daintree Discovery Centre
A multi-award winner, Daintree Discovery Centre is nestled in the heart of the rainforest, 10 kilometres north of the Daintree River. The Centre is a 'must see' for anyone visiting the area and where you can experience the rainforest at every level - from the forest floor to the upper most reaches of the canopy. From the top of the 23 metre high Canopy Tower you can see spectacular orchids and if you're lucky you might just spot a python curled up in a giant basket fern. The spectacular Aerial Walkway provides unprecedented access to the mid level rainforest. You may see a Cassowary with a clutch of chicks wandering along the creek below. The Display Centre has a DVD theatre with films on conservation, cassowaries, crocodiles and more. Interactive computer kiosks have animated DVD's and the Jurassic Forest walk, featuring simulated life-like dinosaurs from 100 million years ago to more recent mega fauna. Self guided audio tours feature interesting information of how the traditional local Aboriginal people made good use of the natural features of the rainforest.Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Daintree Discovery Centre by using our Cow Bay trip builder.

Amazing place to learn about the forest plants/trees insects, animals and bush tucker. Once paid the fee of $37 each adult admission, you are given a hand-held audio device and booklet to explore, the surrounds. Its very informative and I found it interesting, but I have done this now and don't think I would visit again. Some very interesting facts though. Still I feel it is worth a visit if you have not done so already. Just be patient and give yourself time to walk around and listen to the audio.

Amazing family day out, at least 2hr to experience all it has to offer love all the things that the kids can interact with lots of stuff for all ages to enjoy. Even in the 🌧 weather. They have toilets and a fantastic Cafe with lots to enjoy.
