  • Fabulous old buildings in the main street opposite the Information Centre. There is a walk that you can do. Just ask in the Info Centre. These buildings all have great signs out front with info on what they were. They are all well preserved. One of the best historical streets that we have been to. This is where Ned Kelly had his first trial. Do visit the Information Centre across the road and the Bourke Museum behind the Info Centre. Beechworth is one of the best historical towns that we have visited.
  • This place is fantastic! Cheap to visit. The court house is in original condition as it was on the last day is was used. Lots of interesting information to read. Ned Kellys trial began here in August 1880 before it was transferred to Melbourne. Don’t forget to go around the rear of the building where one of the old stable buildings still stand. Also the old stone lock up with would be terrible to be locked up in. The whole area is so interesting and next door is the telegraph office to visit as well.
