  • Such an interesting slice of Victorian history. The volunteers here are very friendly and knowledgeable - so glad we stopped by - we learnt a lot. From the introductory video to panning for gold...

  • *Re-opened from 2nd June 2022* A very well done and informative museum run by knowledgeable and helpful staff who were a real delight to interact with - they even helped us find some gold, to keep! The history of Ararat and it's founding was really interesting. I hope people do visit and support this valuable resource.
  • Great place with lots of history, interesting exhibits and intriguing facts. It's also the type of place you can get around in 30 minutes or spend ages depending on how in-depth you want to be.
