Join a spooky ghost tour of Aradale Ghost Tour, which served as a mental hospital for over 140 years. Originally constructed in the 1860s to accommodate the increasing population of mental patients in the colony of Victoria, the site housed almost 1,000 "lunatics" per year. The large complex expanded over time, eventually becoming a self-sufficient town and including almost 70 buildings, which now serve as historic tourist attractions. Guided tours of the place can lead you through a vast system of wards and hallways, as well as the spacious administration building, chapel, hospital, and the allegedly haunted morgue. Explore one of Australia’s creepiest buildings after dark, and learn all about the controversial treatments used here for over a century. We did the 6 hour tour on the 2nd July with Jasmine & there were 11 people on the tour. It was so fascinating being able to communicate with the spirits, got some great responses when using the equipment from the spirits. Jasmine was an awesome guide taking us round to different buildings that we hadn't been on the shorter tour. Using the equipment to communicate was great. Will plan to do another 6 hour paranormal investigation soon. Well worth coming to Aradale.

We went on the extended 4 hour tour last night. I personally think the large group was too big for this type of tour. Not only was it our group, but there were several on the property at the same time, which made it extremely hard to hear, see, or get into the vibe. Our guide, who was very knowledgeable about Aradale just didn't have the tools to capture the audience and convey the stories.... something that will come with more experience. The 4 hours became very repetitive and due to covid was mostly outdoors. A few suggestions for those who are about to embark on a tour..... wear enclosed shoes, take plenty of water (even a small insulated bag with some) along with a snack, and..... the most important item to take... BUG SPRAY. The mosquitoes were horrendous!
