Join a spooky ghost tour of Aradale Ghost Tour, which served as a mental hospital for over 140 years. Originally constructed in the 1860s to accommodate the increasing population of mental patients in the colony of Victoria, the site housed almost 1,000 "lunatics" per year. The large complex expanded over time, eventually becoming a self-sufficient town and including almost 70 buildings, which now serve as historic tourist attractions. Guided tours of the place can lead you through a vast system of wards and hallways, as well as the spacious administration building, chapel, hospital, and the allegedly haunted morgue. Explore one of Australia’s creepiest buildings after dark, and learn all about the controversial treatments used here for over a century. • Such a great experience, the history portion was awesome and the guide was great she was so knowledgeable and made the experience fun I really don’t believe that people should be allowed the wander off/ignore the tour, it was super disruptive to the people who actually wanted to be there listening and there was a bunch of people who were just making the whole experience a joke. The groups should be capped at 20/30 people max for a better experience. - to respond to the owner yes we were on the tour last night and there was people who were wandering off and disrespecting the guide
  • we booked the ultimate 6 hour experience and I really enjoyed every second!. Our tour guide Dan was SO informative and even made some of his own products!. It was a cold night so make sure to rug up. The stories made the night all the better, and the communication we received was unexplainable. Although it is quite expensive, it is worth it as a one off experience, however if you haven’t don’t an investigation before I would recommend doing the four hour investigation to learn what to do - as you get quite a bit of time on our own to do your own investigation.
