Located in the vicinity of the very city center, Cao Dai Temple is a favorite stop for visitors all over the world, who come to see the place where the worshipers of the new religion come to pray. Established in 1919, and officially recognized as a religion in 1997, Cao Dai started here, on the island, as a combination of principles from all the major religions of the world. The diversity and the elements of all those religions can be easily seen in the architecture and decorations of the temple--through the Confucian design, Buddhist paintings and statues of elements, to the colorful, decorated walls and pillars.     We passed this temple every morning when we went to the morning market at Duong Dong riverside. From the outside, we could see all the colourful and intricate carvings. The Cao Dai religion is unique....  more »
