Swim and snorkel in the calm waters of Lydgate State Park. Aimed mostly at families with small children, the area is quiet and employs lifeguards. Relax in shallow man-made salt pools, sunbathe, or stroll the soft, sandy beach. You'll discover an extensive playground with swings, slides, bridges, and tree houses as well as 4 km (2.5 mi) of coastal trails. You can feed fish, play frisbee, ride bicycles, and fly kites at the site. Restrooms and showers are provided. Fantastic park. It's got a huge wooden playground as well as a large beach and a huge protected swimming area. You're in the ocean with the protected area, and it's completely safe because of the rocks on all sides! There's also a lifeguard there! Also, with the beach, swimming isn't recommended, because of the rip tide around the protected area. But you can definitely relax there!

Great park! Love playing soccer here, and there's a great pavilion for large parties and a nice little beach for the keikis. Don't swim here if you have any cuts, however, or eat anything off the ground - it's right next to the sewage treatment plant and occasionally you'll smell it, and apparently they water the grounds (particularly the soccer field) with untreated water.
