At Juliette Gordon Low's Birthplace, you can explore the family home of the founder of the Girl Scouts. The museum, also once the home of Savannah mayor and Supreme Court Justice James Moore Wayne, has been restored to how it might have looked in the 1880s. Take a tour of the historical property to learn about the Gordon family and how Juliette founded the Girl Scouts in 1912. You will see many original family furnishings and artworks by Juliette. Girl Scout pins and patches--as well as the famed Girl Scout cookies--are sold at the museum's store. Take the guesswork out of planning a Savannah vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

No, this isn't a review of ghost lore... My daughter and I signed up as independent Girl Scouts a few years ago and quickly found the administration to be relatively stifling and the organization of events and gatherings was fairly lackluster. And needlessly said, as a result, participation is almost non-existent. We tried to visit our council museum one time, and they said my daughter (6) was too young to appreciate the exhibits; and even if she wanted to try it, they didn't allow very small children (2) on the property. So, they wouldn't even let us in after making a 4 hour round trip to see the place.

My tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and kept things interesting. I love the interactive exhibit at the end of the tour and the canvases on display.
