Getting to the top of the crater doesn't take much time. It was raining and super foggy when I went, but still very cool. There are multiple paths you can take to the top and through the forest. Lots.... more »

Easy hike up a small cinder cone located just across the highway from the road that leads up to the Mauna Kea Visitor Center. Nice little hike, but not really all that scenic.
