The ancient Hawaiian settlement Kealakekua Bay is known for its historical sites and religious temples, as well as for kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving. A marine life conservation district, the bay--which is on the National Register of Historic Places--offers historical hiking routes, guided kayak tours, and picnic spots with a pavilion and restrooms available. Visit the beach, or hike through the forests along hills and dirt roads to reach renowned diving spots. You can also take a guided tour of the area to explore sights, such as Cook Monument, which was built at the approximate location of Captain Cook's death.   • When you walk onto the jutting concrete dock, with traces of old hitching rods (not sure what those things are really called); steep steps, which you should not use; and other features so rugged and.....  more »
  • We visit here each time we come to Hawaii it is such and amazing place and the Hawaiian history is so important to learn about.  more »
  • Went on snorkel cruise here. Very dirty on top of water with leaves and bark. Saw alot of great fish and an octopus but were covered in dirty stuff
  • Good snorkeling once you make it past the rocks.
