  Lovely gardens. Easy to find using a Satnav. Gardens lead down to the river Cherwell. Payment by contact less card. £8 per person. Over 15's only. Free cooking apples to take home. Guide book for...  more »

  A privately owned stately home, quite small as stately homes go, but pretty big for me. The house is only open by prior arrangement with a minimum party size, see the website. No children under 15. Entry to the gardens costs £8 per person. There is a small free car park. There is a toilet, but no catering or gift shop. There is a lot to see, formal gardens,, productive gardens, woodland walks and riverside walk, a church. I'm not sure it is worth £8. It probably is if you bring a picnic (which you are able to do) and make a day of it. Also, we visited too early in the year (Early May) and not much was flowering. Probably best to visit later in the year when the roses are flowering.
